Ercall Wood Academy offers a modern environment for students to learn in.
Engaging learning environment
As an academy, and across the trust
we appreciate the importance of investing in our campuses to ensure that they are engaging environments for learning, which are safe and nurturing for all our students and staff.
Here at Ercall Wood Academy, we have a vast range of facilities to support the learning for all our pupils.
Ercall Wood Academy offers a modern environment for students to learn in.
The academy has 44 classrooms, including specialist classrooms for Science, Design Technology, Art, Food Technology, Music and IT.
Our new three-storey Science Centre is due to be opened in September 2025 and will create an additional 60 Year 7 places at the academy. The Science Centre will consist of ten science labs, science preparation rooms, storerooms, ancillary rooms and a standard classroom.
In addition to the Science Centre, our extended dining room is due for completion by December 2024 and will include a sheltered, outdoor eating area.
The academy has access to fantastic sports facilities. Students have access to a full-size sports hall and all weather multi games area which is due to be resurfaced in 2025 as part of the expansion works. Outside is a full-size track and field area and we are also within walking distance of the Ercall and The Wrekin.
The academy’s IT was refreshed in the Spring of 2024, providing computers and laptops equipped with the latest hardware to enhance students IT experiences.
Performing arts are well catered for with two dedicated music rooms and sound proofed practise rooms. This is in addition to the theatre space with high quality sound and lighting systems, and a sprung floor dance studio.
Lettings
The academy does hire out the sports hall and classrooms during evenings and weekends apart from during exam season.
