EDUCATION

Remote learning

Ercall Wood Academy, and across the Learning Community Trust, we strive to meet the needs of all our students.

Remote education provision: information for parents

This information is intended to provide clarity and transparency to students, parents and carers about what to expect from remote education if local restrictions require entire cohorts to remain at home.

The remote curriculum: what is taught to students at home

A student’s first day or two of being educated remotely might look different from our standard approach, while we take all necessary actions to prepare for a longer period of remote teaching.

What should my child expect from immediate remote education in the first day or two of students being sent home?

Ercall Wood Academy will ensure that students have access to the essential knowledge that will be taught in lessons through strategies including:

  • Lessons on Satchel One following the student’s timetable.
  • Access to online learning tools, such as Seneca Learning and Sparx Maths.
  • Formative assessments through quizzes and self-assessment.

The work for each subject will be accessible through Satchel One or can be accessed directly by students on SharePoint using this link. Students will need to log in with their school account to access these resources. Please visit http://students.ercallwood.co.uk
